BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- If you're in a relationship and it's Valentine's day, the last place you want to be is at work.

But for one man, it was the perfect place to propose to his girlfriend.

Tyler Kern works at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington and so does his girlfriend.

So he decided to propose to her at work.

He had planned everything out for the proposal, even time to make a quick outfit change, complete with roses and a ring.

The announcement came on the jumbo-tron and the orchestra made it's way to the bride-to-be.

Little did she know the orchestra and her boyfriend were heading straight for her.

"I thought the whole time it was the couple right in front of the audio booth, I kept saying 'it's that couple, it's that couple'. I am totally shocked and so happy," said Amelia Reichl, newly engaged.

"As soon as I went in there I was holding back the tears. I just felt the moment, it was so real. It was unbelievable," said Tyler Kern, newly engaged.

The happy couple got the rest of the night off and are celebrating with family and friends
