PEORIA, Ill -- The Memorial Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure announced Thursday the availability of Community Health Grants for fiscal year 2013 for innovative projects.
The Memorial Affiliate said in a press release that they have identified three funding priority areas:
- To increase availability of screening and diagnostic mammography among women in the Komen Memorial Affiliate Service Area (KMASA), especially African American women and women living in rural areas.
- To overcome barriers of access, cost, transportation, knowledge deficits and/or making breast health a priority to increase regular mammography in women 40 years and older in KMASA, and particularly among African American women and women living in rural areas.
- To improve enrollment in clinical trials of women with breast cancer, especially minority women with breast cancer.
Applications are available to nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies and educational institutions in the Komen Memorial Affiliate service area.
Grant applications will be available at here after November 27. Grant requests are due January 4, 2013.
