BARTONVILLE, Ill. -- Bartonville Police have arrested a man in connection with the Tuesday armed robbery of a Hardee's restaurant.

Police said 33-year-old Matthew J. Caudill, of Peoria, was originally arrested by Creve Coeur police earlier that same day for removing a toy gun from its package and waving it at an employee at Dollar General.

He was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

After an investigation, Bartonville authorities determined Caudill to be the same suspect in the armed robbery.

He faces charges of Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault and is currently being held at the Peoria County Jail.
