EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- East Peoria police have issued murder warrants for two suspects wanted in connection with a fatal shooting last Wednesday.
They have enlisted the help of state police, the FBI and U.S. Marshals in the search for Carlton Neely and James Johnson both 21.
Authorities want to talk to the men who they believe may be responsible for shooting 21-year-old Justin Siebenthal and another man.
Police believe the suspects were attempting to rob Siebenthal when they knocked at his door on Elm Street just after midnight.
"We continue to work off of crime stopper tips and other tips that people are calling in," said East Peoria Interim Police Chief R.T. Finney. "Many times those leads are difficult to follow up because they maybe outside of the city."
Carlton Neely is 6 feet tall and weighs 175 pounds. James Johnson is described as a light-skinned black male, 5'9" and 140 pounds.
Both men are considered armed and dangerous.
