PEORIA, IL. -- Teens from Susan Komen's alma mater created their own team.

Richwoods High School student, Mariah McCarther is spearheading the new group---Teen Team United. She brought together 25 of her high school peers to support.

Much like Susan Komen--these teens have a philanthropic spirit.

"My goal is to spread awareness, because one day they may have to face this in their life of in their family's, and if they can get aware now, then it can probably help them prevent it," said 16-year-old McCarther.

"There is no age limit to make a difference, especially with a subject as dear to everyone as breast cancer," said 16-year-old Kaitlyn Pate.

The group says its next move is to focus on fundraising.
