PEORIA, Ill. -- Testimony resumed Thursday morning in the mass murder trial of Christopher Harris.

Harris is charged with brutally murdering five members of the Gee family in their Beason home in 2009.

Three witnesses took the stand Thursday morning, including Lincoln Fire Protection Chief Chad Letterle. Letterle carried Tabitha Gee out of the home. At one point, Letterle became emotional. He paused before describing the injuries to the toddler. Photos show that the child suffered severe head injuries especially to her forehead and right ear.

The defense objected to the prosecution showing more crime scene photos including those of Justina Constant, 16. They said the photos are the most gruesome. The judge ruled to allow the photos.

The next witness is a crime scene investigator.
