The Red Cross rewards designated drivers

PEORIA, Ill. -- If you're heading out to celebrate the new year, make sure you have a designated driver.

The Red Cross is helping promote the idea by teaming with local bars to provide designated drivers free, non-alcoholic beverages. Those individuals will receive special cups and a designated driver pin.

Participating establishments include:

* Firehouse Bar & Grill, 4925 N. Galena Rd., Peoria Heights, IL
* Goodfellas Pub & Pizza, 1414 N. 8th St., Pekin, IL
* Kelleher's Irish Pub & Eatery, 619 SW Water St., Peoria, IL
* Kouri's Pub, 2929 Court St., Pekin, IL
* Jac's Dog House, 2024 Broadway, Pekin, IL
* Red Rock Bar & Grill, 332 Detroit Ave #4, Morton, IL
