CHILLICOTHE, Ill. -- A local organization is showing it doesn't take much to have a big heart.
On Saturday, nearly 400 people packed Three Sisters Park for the first major fundraiser for Big Hearts Outdoors.
It's a non-profit created in memory of Drake Taylor of Dunlap, who lost his silent battle with a rare blood vessel disorder associated with dwarfism.
Drake passed away last November, but his mother and other organizers are keeping Drake's legacy- and love for the outdoors- alive by giving others the opportunity to go on their own adventure.
"The true focus is on the special needs child and just let them really experience some dreams of what it is just to go out and enjoy sunshine and water and maybe a great bonfire with family and friends," said Beverly Taylor, Drake's mother and President Big Hearts Outdoors.
Organizers hope Saturday's auction and picnic raise up to $15,00 for Big Hearts Outdoors.
