NORMAL, Ill. -- Officials in the town of Normal will be operating out of a new building within one month.
The new Normal, so to speak, is located on the recently completed roundabout in Uptown.
The building will include new council chambers, the mayor's office, administrative offices and it offers space for the town operations to expand.
Because the building is federally funded it also has room for commercial use with town space included.
"It just occurred to council and to the staff that maybe this is a good use, because we've had this need for a while, maybe it's a great use for this new building to occupy it with city hall offices also," said Wayne Aldrich, Uptown Development Director.
The entire project including streets and landscaping has a price tag of $45 million.
The town is contributing about $12 million to the total.
