PEORIA, Ill. -- A few 200 pound one-year-olds celebrated their birthdays Saturday.

The Peoria Zoo put on a special birthday bash for the cubs.

They were treated to their very own birthday cake, filled with meat and fish.

Jill Roderick, the Zoo's Education Curator, says the cubs need their food as they continue to grow, and the smallest tiger weighs more than 160 pounds.

Roderick says following the tigers' year-long journey at the zoo is something for everyone to celebrate.

"We were so excited when they were born," said Roderick, "and we've had such a great response from the community. We wanted to make sure that everyone had a chance to celebrate it with us."

Roderick says the tiger cubs will move to other facilities in the coming year.

In the mean time, the Peoria Zoo will wait for other animal recommendations.
