Victim identified in fatal train vs. pedestrian accident

STREATOR, Ill. -- Streator police say they do not suspect foul play in the death of a 29-year-old Streator man struck and killed by a train.

At approximately 3:50 p.m. on Monday, police received a 911 call from BNSF railroad that one of their northbound trains had hit a pedestrian near the 1st Street overpass.

Officers responded to the scene and found Michael A. Eggers, 29, of Streator dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation but police do not suspect foul play.
