Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and Illinois Governor Pat Quinn Tuesday announced $1.6 billion in transportation-related jobs for Illinois.
It's a continuation of the state's Job's Now capital program.
"Because we authorized our money here today, we're able to match up with our federal money we were able to get from Washington to invest all over Illinois, in every part of our state," says Governor Pat Quinn. "We want to make sure everyone is in and no one is left out when it comes to good transportation in the Land of Lincoln."
But, don't look for much of that money to be spent in Central Illinois.
The majority of the one-point-six billion dollars goes to the Chicago area for both rail and road projects.
However, the Jobs Now package does include over $35-million for land acquisition and construction work on the McComb bypass in McDonough County.
