SPRINGFIELD. Ill. -- This Saturday is National Armed Forces Day, and some of those brave men and women returned home just in time to celebrate with their families.

The "Bilateral Embedded Staff Team," also known as the "Best A10," marched into the armory at Camp Lincoln in Springfield to cheers and tears.

The Illinois Army National Guard soldiers are from throughout the state.

One soldier from Kincaid said it was overwhelming to finally see his family, after coming home, safely, from his first deployment.

"I couldn't have been happier it was, it was great. So I, love them all and I just can't wait to be home and spend some time with them," said Sergeant First Class Thomas Watson of the Illinois Army National Guard.

The soldiers started their training in Indiana, before being deployed to Poland, where they trained with soldiers there.

They then headed to Afghanistan, where they spent seven months developing the Afghan army and preparing for the eventual withdrawal of U.S. forces.
