PEORIA, Ill. -- Whether you're giving or receiving toys for the holidays, safety experts warn to inspect the items closely.
On Tuesday, the Illinois Public Interest Research Group released its annual "Trouble in Toyland" report.
In it is a list of dangerous or toxic toys still sold in stores.
Health and safety experts warn toy magnets can cause serious internal damage if swallowed and advise parents to watch out for toys that pose a choking hazard, even if kids meet the age requirement.
One test you can do at home is with a toilet paper roll.
If small toys can fit inside the roll, then they could pose a choking threat.
Experts also warn to check lead levels and make sure children's toys aren't too loud.

"Ingested toys we see frequently," said Dr. Greg Tudor, Emergency Physician at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. "Things that aren't toys, like button batteries. If you buy a toy, and there's little disk batteries that are associated with those things, little ones put those in there's mouths as well. So, things that aren't a toy, but things that are accessories to the toy."
