Truck overturns after trying to avoid distracted driver

EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- Two men have been transported to local hospitals after an accident that left one truck overturned on Springfield Road.

Tazewell County authorities report that the driver of a Ford SUV was traveling southbound before crossing into oncoming traffic.

The driver of a Chevrolet pick-up truck attempted to avoid hitting the SUV before leaving the road.

Both vehicles wound up off the road, with the truck ending up on its roof.

Authorities say both men were transported to local hospitals for observation after sustaining minor injuries.

Distracted driving appears to be the cause of the wreck.
