BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- A truck driver accused of hitting and killing a Bloomington firefighter has been found guilty of reckless homicide.

That's according to the Pantagraph.

Mansur Shakirov was charged with the crime after hitting firefighter Chris Brown, 39, last March while he was responding to an accident on Interstate 39 near Hudson.

Prosecutors say Shakirov was driving too fast for road conditions. He waived his right to testify.

The verdict means Shakirov could face up to 14 years in prison.
