DELAVAN, Ill. -- Two Delavan men have been arrested in connection to a series of burglaries at Tazewell County churches.

Robert O'Malley Jr, 19, and Joel Mibbs, 20, both of Delavan, were arrested over the weekend.

The two allegedly broke into the Christ Lutheran Church and a Presbyterian Church in Delavan, and Boyton Mennonite Church and Hopedale Mennonite Church in Hopedale

According to Captain Darryl Stoecker from the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office, the suspects entered the churches by breaking in through windows.

Once inside, the suspects stole money and electronics. The electronics were mostly sold either online or at pawn shops, but some of the property has been recovered.

The pair also allegedly set a fire extinguisher off at Boyton Mennonite Church, causing damage.

The suspects are both being held at Tazewell County Jail.
