CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- Three heart of Illinois eye care centers are now part of a cautionary recall by the Food and Drug Administration.
Those facilities include: Cosmetic Surgery Center in Peoria, Eye Surgical Associates in Bloomington, and Gailey Eye Clinic in Ottowa.
All three were on a list of Illinois eye care centers that received medication made by the New England Compounding Center.
The Massachusetts pharmacy is linked to a multi-state fungal meningitis outbreak involving steroid injections.
The new drugs involved would have been used in eye surgeries on or after May 21.
The FDA said so far, there has been no reports linking the eye medication to the meningitis outbreak, and that the recall is due to an "abundance of caution."
