CHICAGO, Ill. -- It looks like we won't have to go without Twinkies for much longer.
The Chicago Tribune is reporting that two seperate firms are in talks to purchase former Hostess snack cake brands such as Twinkies and Donettes.
Apollo Global Management LLC and C. Dean Metropoulos & Co are both said to be part of the deal, which is valued at $400 million.
The rumored deal is part of Hostess' liquidation process. Hostess was granted permission by a U.S. bankruptcy court judge in November to wind down its business and liquidate its assets.
