Two men arrested for Sprint store robbery

NORMAL ,Ill. -- Two men are in custody in connection with the robbery of a Sprint store in Normal last month.

The Normal Police Department has identified the two men they believe to be responsible for the crime as Dejean Thompkins, 18, and Dontell Black, 23, both of Chicago.

On June 14, the two men allegedly entered the Sprint store, at 200 Greenbriar Drive, brandished handguns and demanded staff and customers cooperate with their demands.

Then men fled through the rear door of the business with an undisclosed amount of cash and property.

Both Thompkins and Black have been arrested on outstanding arrest warrants from McLean County for 7 counts of Armed Robbery.

Thompkins was located and arrested by the Lafayette Indiana Police Department and Black was located at arrested by the United States Marshalls Service in Chicago.

Thompkins is currently being held at the McLean County Jail. Black is awaiting extradition to McLean County and currently housed at the Cook County Jail.

Both are being held on $250,000 bond.
