PEORIA, Ill. -- Two men have been charged with murder, and a third man with weapons charges, after a fatal shooting Wednesday.
Orlando Mathews, 21, and Duane Simmons, 21, both face two counts of First Degree Murder for the killing of Dustin Thompson, 30.
They are being held on $2 million bond each.
Denzell Gayton, 21, who was arrested at the same time as Mathews and Simmons, is charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon. His bond was set at $500,000.
Thompson was shot three times in the torso outside the Landmark Apartment complex in Peoria.
Prosecutors said witnesses to the mid-day shooting were instrumental in the quick arrests.
