PEORIA, Ill. -- Two more kiosks are up and ready for operation along the Illinois River.
On Tuesday morning, the Illinois River Road National Scenic Byway unveiled the latest in its series of Kiosks in Peoria.
The organization is installing informational kiosks in its six gateway communities. The 11 foot tall kiosks provide visitors with information about the Byway region, the Illinois River, the communities along the route and the natural attractions found nearby.
"We want visitors who walk away from the Kiosks to feel that the counties they're visiting are part of a much better experience," said Anaise Berry.
"It's an important part of the infrastructure we are building," said Byway chairman Jason Beverlin. "Getting people down here to see it, start utilizing it, promoting it as being here, promoting all the other things that Byway has got. I think is really important."
On Tuesday afternoon, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held for another Kiosk at the Illinois River Road National Scenic Byway in Princeton.
