PEORIA, Ill. -- Intermittent lane closures will be in effect on portions of I-39, beginning Friday, August 24.
The Illinois Department of Transportation says the lane closures will take place in Woodford and Marshall Counties, from Exit 8 near Kappa to Exit 41 near Wenona.
The closures are necessary due to pavement removal and patching. The work is expected to last until October.
In addition to this project, bridge painting is scheduled to begin Friday at the I-39/ IL 116 interchange and will continue for approximately one week. One lane will be closed throughout the duration of the bridge painting.
Please remember to slow down and use extreme caution while driving through all work zones.
