NORMAL, Ill -- Students at a local high school helped to find homeless animals a new home for the holidays.
Monday, U-High E.A.R.T.H. Club members held a pet adoption and fundraiser.
Students got a chance to play with cats and dogs from the Central Illinois Small Animal Rescue.
E.A.R.T.H. members say they hope the students persuade their parents into adopting a pet for Christmas.
"The club members are trying to help these animals get a voice so that they can find their forever homes, not just for the holidays, but for the rest of their lives," said E.A.R.T.H. Club Sponsor Dixie Lews.
Money raised from the fundraiser will go to support five area animal organizations, including the Central Illinois Small Animal Rescue.
