CANTON, Ill -- It's a story we brought you Tuesday: residents in Canton upset over the conditions of one of the homes in their neighborhood.
Wednesday was the original deadline for the Harris residence to get their water turned back on, according to city officials. They did not meet that deadline.
Officials said in order to get the water turned back on to the home, the Harris' need to come up with $750.
An extension of two days has been given, but no more than a week for them to come up with the money.
If they do not come up with the money, officials said the Canton Police Chief does have the power to remove them from their house.
Another update from Canton City officials is expected Friday.
