BLOOMINGTON, Ill -- The U.S. Cellular Coliseum performed better in the first quarter than expected, but still lost over $5,000.
A release from the City of Bloomington says Central Illinois Arena Management had budgeted a loss of almost $150,000 for the first quarter. The venue is expected to bring in more revenue this coming fall.
However, two sold out events pushed the venue closer to the break-even point than expected.
From May through July, the Coliseum saw a cumulative atendance of 72,199 from 28 events. During the same period last year, the Coliseum drew attendance of 46,532.
