CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- The November jobless rate was the lowest it has been since 2008 in both the Peoria and Bloomington-Normal Metro areas.
That is according to the latest data released Thursday by the Illinois Department of Employment Security, which shows the Peoria metro rate at 7.7 percent and Bloomington-Normal at 6.1 percent.
While the rate has dipped, the numbers do show 100 fewer non-farm jobs in both Peoria and Bloomington-Normal year-to-year.
Peoria lost 1,000 Professional-Business Services jobs and the Twin Cities lost 400.
In 2008, the Peoria rate was 5.5 percent and 5 percent in Bloomington-Normal.
