SPRINGFIELD, Ill -- State Representative Mike Unes said Tuesday in a statement that he is hopeful for a House vote by the end of the 97th General Assembly on his bill to aid Wildlife Prairie State Park's financial uncertainty.
Unes is a sponsor of a bill that would transfer the bill from the state to not-for-profit group Friends of Wildlife Prairie State Park.
"It is extremely important to the region to keep a gem like this open, not to mention it is a huge relief to the state to not have to pay the more than $6 million that is needed in capital improvements to the park," Unes said.
The bill passed unanimously in the Senate and now only needs a vote of concurrence in the Illinois House to be sent to Governor Pat Quinn.
