NORMAL, Ill -- One man is dead after a fiery single car accident in Normal early Saturday morning.

McClean County Coroner Beth Kimmerling announced Monday that the driver of the vehcile was Travis W. Kinsella, 30, formerly of Towanda.

Kinsella's autopsy was completed Monday morning and preliminary findings indicate that he died as a result of probable smoke inhalation. There were no fatal injuries from the crash.

Kimmeling says around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, authorities received word of a crash at the intersection of Linden and Northtown Roads.

When they arrived, they found the car on fire. They believe that Kinsella was headed northbound on Linden, when he left the roadway, and struck a tree.

After authorities extinguished the fire, they found the Kinsella unresponsive and badly burned, making identification difficult. He was later pronounced dead.
