EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- The two victims and the gunman involved in a shooting at an East Peoria bar last night have been identified.
The victims, Lori A. Moore, 33, of Morton and Lance Griffel, 36, of Peoria were both pronounced dead at OSF St Francis Medical Center last night.
Both were shot in the head, according to the Peoria County Coroner.
The suspected gunman is Jason Moore, 40, of Creve Coeur.
He was pronounced dead at the scene around 10:50 p.m. Saturday, according to the Tazewell County coroner.
The shooting happened Saturday just before 8 p.m. inside the Fifth Quarter Sports bar in East Peoria.
The bar is located on North Main Street, across from the Par-a-dice Hotel and Casino.
Police said the suspect walked into the bar and shot Lori Moore and Griffel at point blank range.
An off-duty law enforcement officer then pulled his weapon and shot the suspect.
The bar remained closed Sunday as police continued their investigation.
Lori Moore was at the bar for her class reunion; with her boyfriend Lance Griffel.
The East Peoria Police Chief said the shooting is domestic violence related, identifying the suspect as the ex-husband of Lori Moore.
According to court records, divorce papers were filed between Lori and Jason Moore in March of 2013.
The divorce and parenting agreement were final in May of last year.
"Domestic situations are extremely volatile, whether they end up in this kind of situation or your average domestic. There is a certain level of volatility and unpredictability that are involved. The emotion level is high and sometimes they just reach a point and people snap," said East Peoria Police Chief, Dick Ganschow.
Autopsies for Lori Moore and Griffel are scheduled for Monday.
An autopsy for Jason Moore is scheduled for sometime Sunday.
No one else inside the bar was injured.
