Volunteers Needed to Help Fill Sand Bags in East Peoria

EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- East Peoria officials are asking for your help to protect the city from the rising Illinois River. Volunteers are being sought to help fill sandbags Sunday. 400 bags need to be filled and the city is supplying the bags, shovels and sand.

The sandbagging effort is being done behind the Public Safety building at 201 West Washington Street. Volunteers are asked to park in the Springfield Electric parking lot next door.
