WASHINGTON, D.C. -- When it comes to political topics, more Americans rank spending and job creation higher in importance than gun control.
According to a survey done by Rasmussen Reports, 71 percent of voters rate those topics as far more important issues than gun control, but the political class disagrees.
Sixty-eight percent believe cutting government spending is the best way to help the economy while the same amount consider the issue of job creation to be very important.
Only 48 percent describe the issue of gun control as very important.
