BLOOMINGTON, Ill -- Bloomington Alderman Jennifer McDade's efforts to get back on the ballot for the primary election in February ballot continue to be opposed by her opponent in Ward 5.

Matthew Koetters filed a brief in McLean County Court Friday, arguing incumbent alderman McDade's name should not appear on the ballot for a number of reasons.

The Bloomington Election Commission had earlier removed McDade, because she had failed to name which ward she was running in and used the date of the general election, not the primary.

McDade has appealed, and Koetters has cited case law as reasons McDade shouldn't be on the ballot.

A Judge is to hear the case on January 7.
