WASHBURN, Ill -- Washburn village board trustees may have a new police chief after months of no police force.

One trustee tells News 25 they made a formal offer to a police chief of another small Illinois town and he reportedly accepted.

The hire still has to be approved by the Washburn Village Board at it's next meeting.
