PEORIA, Ill. -- Water main breaks that started last Monday are continuing.

The latest one happened on private property and does not include Illinois American Water.

K-Mart Store on W. Lake Avenue did not open Saturday due to a water main break.

It happened Saturday in the parking lot around 5 am.

K-Mart Manager, Chris Neis said there was a little bit of water that got into the store, but it caused only minimal damage.

The bigger problem was outside in the parking lot which was full of slush and ice.

Private contractors spent the day fixing the problem and pumping out water.

Most of the problem was limited to K-Mart and none of the surrounding stores there in Evergreen Square.

The manager said the store will reopen Sunday at it's regular time.

All week long Illinois American Water crews had to fix water main breaks that happened as a result of the extreme cold weather.
