Weekend fundraisers to benefit Race for the Cure

PEORIA, IL. -- Grab a straw, or spoon, and join the fight against breast cancer.

Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4 select McDonald's locations in Peoria and Bartonville will donate $1 for every small sized strawberry shake purchased. The donations will benefit the Susan G. Komen Memorial Affiliate Race for the Cure.

Not ready for dessert, how about a tasty brat?

You'll find it at the 14th annual Brats for the Cure. $4 buys you a Johnsonville brat, chips and drink.

Brats for the Cure runs Friday through Sunday outside the Peoria Metro Centre Schnuck's store.

But the fun doesn't stop there. Join Team Ronda and Team Janice at Landmark Lanes for a Bowl-A-Thon.

Ronda Guyton is a 1-year Breast Cancer Survivor and Janice Parker is a 4-month Breast Cancer Survivor. The two are teaming up to raise funds for the Race for the Cure.

The Bowl-A-Thon runs Saturday, May 4 from 2pm-6pm. Bowlers must pay $15 (includes 2 games, shoes, pizza, and soda). At will donations will also be accepted.

These events are just some of the many fundraisers leading up to the 2013 Peoria Race for the Cure Saturday, May 11.
