WASHINGTON, Ill. -- On Wellington drive in Washington Sunday's tornado ripped through the streets damaging many homes.
According to residents the storm only lasted a few minutes, but that was long enough to cause severe damage--totaling cars and scattering personal belongings all over the neighborhood.
The path of the tornado was unpredictable. One resident is thankful her home was minimally damaged while homes next door were completely destroyed.
"We have two children so I told him to grab one and I'll grab the other and we kneeled down and prayed. We heard the storm come through, some of our windows broke, we faired pretty well compared to those around us, so we're definitely praying for our neighbors," Pamela Rosenberger said.
Most houses in the Wellington Drive area of Washington are destroyed.
Residents are now searching for what's left of their valuables.
