President Obama is expected to speak on the economy, jobs and the middle class at his 5th State of the Union address on Tuesday night.
Illinois Congressional leaders are hoping to hear some different strategies from the President.
18th District Congressman Aaron Schock says the last four years have been the slowest for economic growth in our country's history... Even slower than during the great depression.
Schock says job creation is another big concern he hears from citizens.
"The last 4 years our country's economy has grown by about 1% a year. That doesn't keep up with the number of graduates leaving our country's colleges. Over half of college graduates who graduated in May are still unemployed. How do you tell kids in the 4th grade today to go to college when our country is not doing a good job of creating jobs for them when they get out," said Rep. Schock.
You can watch the president's State of the Union address Tuesday night at 8 p.m. on WEEK and WHOI.
