PEORIA, Ill -- A wheelchair bound Peoria man was attacked and robbed at around 6:15 pm Monday on the 300 block of Green St.

The 62-year-old victim was at In & Out and was approached by the suspect.  He asked the victim if he could have a dollar.  The victim gave him one and asked the suspect to stop following him.

Upon leaving the business, the victim proceeded down an alley towards Green St.  The suspect then struck the victim from behind, knocking him out of his wheelchair.  The suspect took eight dollars off of the victim and fled.

Police spoke to the clerk of the business who said that the suspect frequents there and is always asking people for money.  She said that she has heard him go by the name Chris.
