Wind Chill Advisory continues for central Illinois

January 23, 2014 Updated Jan 23, 2014 at 6:34 PM CDT

EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- A bone chilling, deep freeze has hit Central Illinois once again.

A wind chill advisory remains in effect for much of the area until noon Friday.

That means very cold air and strong winds are creating low and even dangerous wind chills.

Medical experts say the frigid temperatures increase the risk of hypothermia and frost bite, both of which can occur within minutes.

Pet owners should also bring animals inside.
