Woman accused of stealing from Bloomington pleads Not Guilty

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- A woman who is a accused of stealing approximately $21,000 from the City of Bloomington plead not guilty on Friday.

Leslie Weaver, 35, of Sherrard was taken into custody on February 22.

Police say that in July of 2012 they were asked by City Manager David Hales to investigate an alleged theft from the City of Bloomington by a city employee.

The thefts began in September of 2011 and ended in December of 2011. Approximately $21,000 was stolen over that time frame.

Her bail was set at $1 million.

Weaver is next scheduled to appear in court on June 3.
