Woman faked cancer diagnosis to steal money

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- A Quad Cities’ woman who allegedly faked cancer to steal money has been charged in the case.

Jennifer Pauley appeared at a preliminary hearing Tuesday in Rock Island.

Pauley faces a long list of charges including identity theft and forgery.

She is accused of claiming she had cancer and creating false medical records to swindle her boyfriend out of money to pay for her drug habit.
