Woman killed in car crash on way to hospital to give birth

A tragic story from North Carolina.

According to the Burlington (N.C.) Times-News, a 22-year-old North Carolina woman died as the result of a car crash Sunday that occurred as her husband was driving her to the hospital to give birth to their child.

Authorities said he couple's vehicle hydroplaned and hit a tree, according to the Times-News report. The woman's baby boy was delivered, and is in a North Carolina hospital, according to the Times-News report.
