Woman rescued from creek after crash

PEORIA, Ill. -- Black ice is believed to be the cause of an SUV crash that resulted in the rescue of a woman from a creek on Allen Road.

Shortly after 8 am on Wednesday, authorites were called near the intersection of War Memorial and Allen.

There, authorities found a SUV that had slid into a creek on the northbound side of Allen Road.

The female driver had to be rescued from the vehicle and was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center for precautionary reasons.

There was no visible damage to the vehicle.
