Woodford County Sheriff announces retirement

EUREKA, Ill. -- Woodford County Sheriff Jim Pierceall will not seek re-election.

Pierceall announced Friday that he will retire at the end of his current term.

In a news release, Pierceall said he hopes his efforts have helped to provide Woodford County citizens with a safe place to live.

Pierceall has been with the sheriff's department for more than 30 years and has been sheriff for the past 11 years.

His retirement is effective November 30, 2014.
