PEORIA, Ill. -- The American Red Cross needs your help right now and all you have to do is roll up your sleeve.

Right now, all blood types, especially types O negative, B negative and A negative, are urgently needed to help ensure a sufficient blood supply for patients.

And while you can donate blood any day... June 14th - which is Thursday - happens to be World Blood Donor Day.

The blood center on John Gwynn Junior Avenue in Peoria is open 11 am to 6 pm that day for donations.

Those who give that day receive an appreciation gift of fashion bandages from Nexcare.
