EAST PEORIA, Ill -- The lighting of the East Peoria wreath is holiday tradition. It is sometimes called a beacon to welcome holiday travelers to the area.
The wreath has been a constant in East Peoria for the entire 28 years history of the East Peoria Festival of Lights.
Monday evening, 2012 Miss Festival of Lights Megan Stafford used her magic powers to light the wreath.
It's base is a 35 foot Ferris wheel and has been positioned on Fon Du Lac drive every year except one.
You can enjoy the wreath from now until December 31.
The FOLEPI winter wonderland opens on Thanksgiving day this year at 5 p.m. It will be open every evening through December 31.
