YATES CITY, Ill. -- Organizers of an event in Yates City hope to raise money for St. Jude Saturday.

It started back in 2003 when workers at My Place Bar and Grill raised $1,000 for a local seventh grader with cancer.

Since then, it’s become a yearly event raising a quarter of a million dollars for the organization.

The fun kicks off Saturday with registration for a run-walk beginning at 6:30 a.m.

There will also be a kids carnival, tractor drive, and a benefit auction.
