PEORIA, Ill. -- Some old-time hockey is coming to the Peoria Civic Center Wednesday night and it will all benefit tornado victims across Central Illinois.
Hockey greats from the St. Louis Blues and the Chicago Blackhawks will take to the ice in the Skate Strong alumni benefit game.
About 16 alumni players from each organization will gear up again to fund-raise for those affected by the November tornadoes.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Salvation Army's disaster relief.
"If you're in the position where you can help out, I think you have the obligation to help out. I think the alumni want to do that. We want to see if we can do something about it, and we will know after the game if we were able to make a small difference by raising a lot of money."
The puck drops at 7:00 pm Wednesday.
$10 donations will be collected at the door.
Following the game, players will sign autographs and their jerseys will be auctioned off.
