PEKIN, Ill. -- People from all over the country showed off their hottest rides at the 30th annual V8 Car Show Saturday afternoon.

More than 100 cars from the years 1912 to 2013 were on display at the Avanti's Dome.

Organizers said this show marks the start of the "car season" for many enthusiasts.

Those attending the show were able to vote for their favorite cars.

"Dad likes it because he remembers the old cars, and his kids like it because it is something they don't see every day," said car show organizer, Jerry Haven. "Mom will like it too sometimes. We try to make it a good-time show."

Proceeds from the show will benefit Children's Hospital of Illinois.

Last year, the show raised $3,000. Organizers hope to raise even more this year.
